As a small nonprofit organization, MCAP simply could not do our work to end and prevent child abuse without our donors. So on Mondays in April – National Child Abuse Prevention Month – we celebrate our donors! And hear from them in their own words Why I Give To MCAP.
Our second featured donor is Michael Haines of Waverly Custom Homes, based in Villanova. Michael is a long-time corporate sponsor of our annual Salute to Heroes Dinner Dance & Auction every fall and our Run For The Hill Of It fundraising race every summer. Read on for Michael’s reasons for giving to MCAP:
1. How did you first hear of MCAP?
I learned of MCAP from a prior board member. She was so passionate about MCAP’s mission that I wanted to become involved and support the cause as much as possible.
2. What made you give your first donation to MCAP?
It’s no secret the measure of a healthy society is the wellness of its children. It is incumbent upon all of us to do what we can to insure the safety and security of children, so that they are positioned to lead healthy, happy and productive lives.
3. What do you hope MCAP is able to accomplish with your support?
I am hopeful that through donations like ours, MCAP is able to protect the mental and physical health of innocent children. MCAP involvement comes at a most difficult time in a child’s life. It is through the tireless efforts of the staff at MCAP and its numerous donors and volunteers, that the children of Montgomery County have a resource that is dedicated to their well-being.
All of us at MCAP are grateful to Michael for his continuing commitment to MCAP’s fundraising events and his staunch support of children in need. Thank you for being our #MondayMotivation, Michael!
