Over the last year MCAP has been using social media more than ever. We posted and shared on Facebook, revved up our Tweeting game, and even did a couple of Facebook Lives! Social media is so important for a small, budget-conscious nonprofit like MCAP. It extends our reach far beyond what would be financially possible without it. And there has never been a more important time to reach more people in our community.

MCAP represented a record 657 children last year. This marks a 72% increase since 2015 in the number of children we serve annually. With the opioid crisis, insufficient medical and behavioral health support for families in need, and economic uncertainty affecting our community, we expect this upward trend to continue. We are committed to continuing to provide quality legal services to each and every child referred to us. We are also committed to decreasing the number of children who need our services through expanded education and advocacy programs. But we need the help of everyone in our community.

As with our other social media platforms, with MCAP Happenings we hope to engage even more of you, the people in our community, in our work to end and prevent child abuse in Montgomery County by:

  • giving you crucial information about how to keep the children in your life safe
  • keeping you updated on changes to Pennsylvania’s child protection laws
  • introducing you to some of our heroic MCAP advocates and other individuals making a difference in children’s lives
  • sharing stories about the superhero children we serve*

MCAP’s mission – to end and prevent child abuse in Montgomery County – needs all of us. It needs our community. Thank you for being a part of ours.

Gratefully,
Mary C. Pugh, Esq.
Executive Director
