To commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, MCAP invites all of Montgomery County to wear blue, the color of prevention, and join together on the steps of the Montgomery County Courthouse for MCAP Wear Blue on the Steps on April 5th!
MCAP Executive Director Mary Pugh says of the event: “Since 2015 MCAP has experienced an almost 70% increase in the number of abused children we serve each year. With MCAP Wear Blue on the Steps we will send a strong message that Montgomery County takes child abuse seriously, that we are working every day to protect our kids, and that our community is in this together. We hope to see all of Montgomery County wearing blue on the courthouse steps on April 5th to raise awareness with us.”
Plus the Patriarch Foundation has generously pledged $100 to MCAP for every attendee of the event, for a total donation up to $10,000!
Speakers for MCAP Wear Blue on the Steps include state and local dignitaries, advocates, Mary Pugh, and MCAP Board President Kate Imbesi. There will also be a group photo and MCAP give-aways and information.
