Directors of Montgomery Child Advocacy Project Receive High
Honors
The American Bar Association General Practice, Solo & Small Firm
Division has chosen six recipients of its 2007 Difference Makers Awards.
This award is given each year by the ABA Small Firm/General Practice
Division to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding commitment
to legal services for the poor and disadvantaged. In a crowded
field, MCAP Administrative Director, Mary C. Pugh, Esquire and Project
Director, Wendy Demchick-Alloy, Esquire each received a 2007 Difference
Makers Award for their work at MCAP.
MCAP is a nonprofit organization providing
free legal representation to children who are victims of abuse and
neglect. Mary and Wendy proudly accepted their awards on behalf
of the many attorney advocates who donate their time and resources
to MCAP. In addition, they thanked all of those who support
MCAP through financial contributions helping to finance the daily
operations. Special thanks were given to the Montgomery Bar
Association for their ongoing commitment to MCAP since its inception.
The others selected to receive the award
in 2007 include: Harvey F. Strauss, (Norristown, PA) Co-Director,
Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania for his years working for the
neediest among us; C. Dale McClain (Worcester, PA) for Service to
the Profession; William T. Robinson III (Florence, KY) for Community
Service and Judge Pamila J. Brown (Ellicott City, MD) for Breaking
Barriers.
The award was presented on Friday night,
October 5, 2007 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia
as part of the ABA Small Firm/General Practice Annual Meeting.
