MCAP IS ABOUT HELPING CHILDREN

MCAP is a 501(c)(3) organization designed to provide free legal representation and social services to children of Montgomery County who are victims of abuse and neglect. Everyday in Montgomery County, children suffer from physical and sexual abuse by someone close to them, oftentimes a trusted family member. These powerless children are harmed by malicious offenders in many heart-wrenching scenarios; there is no typical child abuse case just as there is no typical child abuse victim. Sadly, what is typical is the harrowing and confusing circumstances confronting a child victim as a case progresses. The legal arena is unfamiliar; the terminology is complicated and confusing; the progression of the case has unique and unusual traumatic twists. Over 100 MCAP advocate attorneys volunteer their time to represent these children each and every day in Montgomery County.
